About

A 6B pencil on Bristol board is butter on toast in the morning. Ink before lunch is crisp and deliberate. In the evening adding colored pencil to the drawings relaxes me. Art-making always returns me to my center. Daily drawing prepares me for the afternoon constructions. I am a present-day hunter/gatherer. I search for rusty washers, u-nails, and hand-forged chains. I delight in collecting discarded debris from the woods, roadsides, flea markets, and gifts from family and friends. Combining disparate materials-the found objects with carved and charred wood, metals, and or fibers, impels me to make new objects. I am intoxicated by process, absorbed with materials. Making is my breath.
